KeepUp ("we," "our," or "us") respects your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use our mobile application, KeepUp (the "App").

A. Personal Data

When you register for an account, we collect personally identifiable information, including:

• Email Address: Used for authentication, account management, and account verification.
• User ID: A unique identifier assigned to your account.
• Display Name: The name you choose to display when posting reviews.

B. Usage Data & User Generated Content

• Tracked Shows: We store the list of movies and TV shows you follow to provide release updates and schedule briefings.
• Reviews and Ratings: If you write a review or rate a show, that content (including your text, rating, and display name) is stored and may be visible to other users of the App.
• Search Queries: Keywords you enter to find movies or TV shows are processed to retrieve results.

C. Permissions

The App may request access to the following device features:

• Notifications: To send you alerts about new episodes, movie releases, or content updates. You can manage this access in your device settings.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to:

• Create and manage your account.
• Verify your identity via email verification.
• Sync your tracked shows and watch status across devices.
• Generate personalized briefings and status updates regarding the release dates of your tracked content.
• Send you push notifications regarding content updates (if enabled).

3. Disclosure of Your Information

We may share information we have collected about you in certain situations. Your information may be disclosed as follows:

A. Third-Party Service Providers

We use third-party services to facilitate our App's functionality. These providers have access to your data only to perform specific tasks on our behalf:

• Google Firebase: We use Firebase Authentication to manage user sign-ins and Firebase Firestore to store your account data.
• Render: We use a backend service hosted on Render to process show status checks and generate your briefings.
• The Movie Database (TMDB): We use the TMDB API to fetch movie and TV show metadata. When you search for a show, your search query is sent to TMDB.

B. User Interactions

If you post a review, your rating, review text, and display name may be viewed by other users.

4. Analytics and Advertising

Currently, the App does not use third-party analytics services or display third-party advertisements.

5. Data Retention

We retain your personal information (such as your email and tracked shows) for as long as your account is active. You may delete your account at any time within the App settings, which will remove your data from our active databases.

6. Security of Your Information

We use administrative, technical, and physical security measures to help protect your personal information. Specifically, we rely on Google Firebase for secure authentication and data storage. However, please be aware that no security measures are perfect or impenetrable.

7. Children's Privacy

We do not knowingly solicit information from or market to children under the age of 13. If we learn that we have collected information from a child under age 13 without verification of parental consent, we will delete that information.
